Established in 2003, Redvespa are a business consultancy with a track record of excellence in business analysis. Our experienced and skilled consultants work with diverse clients around New Zealand, supported from our offices in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. We are not simply in business, we are in business for good. This philosophy sees us committed to making change happen, unleashing potential, and enriching lives, businesses, and the environment.
Redvespa is in the early stages of its journey towards sustainability.
In 2018, we produced our action plan, “A Vision for Sustainability”, detailing the steps we will take over the coming years.
Redvespa also achieved B Corp certification in the same year. A comprehensive process which requires commitment, transparency, and verified actions and progress, our B Corp certification is a clear statement that we are in business for good.
Year 1 of our sustainability vision was centred on reducing waste, while the subsequent years focus on an ambitious plan to become net carbon neutral by the end of Year 4.
Working alongside Ekos, from April 1 2019 Redvespa has begun measuring the carbon emissions of flights for its Wharewhero (head office) staff members. Over the next 3 years, flights for non-head office staff and emissions related to all business operations will be added to this.
This work will also lead to targets being set for an overall reduction of our emissions.
This work, alongside a number of other elements of our Business for Good philosophy, will be detailed in Redvespa’s inaugural Business for Good Annual Report, to be released in July 2019. The report will be hosted on at www.businessforgood.co.nz and is a transparent representation of our goals, achievements, and targets.
In the process of developing our Business for Good Annual Report, we looked to the United Nations and their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a guide. We are eager for our environmental and social initiatives to contribute to the broader global community of change-makers. We adapted the SDGs in to our own Business for Good Values to ensure we are focused on the areas where we, as a business and individuals, can have the most impact. One of our identified Values is Climate Action. We have defined this value as:
Redvespa is committed to making business decisions that are environmentally positive and we believe that climate change is one of the defining issues of our time. Acknowledging the importance of the issue is not enough, however, and taking action is vital. Where Redvespa cannot take direct action, we will support the work and voices of those who are.
Our commitment to the Climate Leaders Coalition adds to all these initiatives as we look to join forces with organisations who share our values, who we can learn from, and who we can work with to make positive change.

New Zealanders believe electricity retailers and supermarkets are doing the most to be more sustainable, however, they want brands in all industries to be more open and upfront about sustainability, and actively communicate it. The findings of the In Good Company report released today demonstrate that sustainability is not just something they care about when making a purchase, but it is contributing to how they choose what to buy.

Most plastic is made from non-renewable petrochemicals. The extraction process and conversion into plastic releases carbon into the atmosphere, adding to climate change. So in 2014 we challenged ourselves to find a packaging alternative that goes beyond reducing emissions, and actually takes carbon out of the atmosphere. We found a packaging solution that can help to combat climate change. It’s plastic made from sugarcane.
